Didem Balcin is a Turkish actress. She is better known for her roles as Selcan Hatun’ in the television series named ‘Dirilis Ertugrul’ and ‘Kurulus: Osman’.

Didem Balcin and Can Aydin were officially engaged and their engagement was held in 2020. The couple got married in May 2020 and welcomed their first child, a son named Alican, who was born in April 2021.

Career

Didem Balcin was born on 18th May 1982 in Ankara. She was born to a father who worked for TRT Radio and her mother Nur Balcin represented Turkey at a beauty contest in Japan in 1975.

Her maternal family is of Turkish and Albanian origins. Balcin completed her graduation from Ankara University where she studied the School of Literature, History, and Geography and pursued a degree in Theatre Studies.

After completing her graduation, she moved to Istanbul and made appearances in various commercials and TV series. She made her first professional appearance on stage was at Levent Kirca Theatre with a role in the play Atesin Dustugu Yer.

In 2009, Balcin launched her own theatre company with Nergis Ozturk. For her role in the comedy movie named ‘Bunu Yapan Iki Kisi’ for which she won the Lions Award for Best Comedy Actress.

In 2011, she founded the ‘Doda Sanat’ Education Consultancy with her sister. She is famous for her role as Selcan Hatun in the series named ‘DirilisL Ertugrul’ and ‘KurulusL Osman’.
